3 Months with my Fisherman

Garrett Dean is 3 months old as of yesterday, September 23! I can't believe how quickly time goes by - it really feels like I had him just last week. He's so big already, and so curious about the world around him. Here are some highlights and milestones from his 3 months on planet earth:

Weight and height: not sure, at his 2 month appointment he was 12 lbs. 4 oz. and 24.5 in. long; so definitely more than that.

Hair and eye color: brown on both accounts; however, I don't think his eyes will be as dark as mine. So far they're a really pretty chocolate brown with just the tiniest bit of blue around the rim. I doubt the blue will stick around, but hopefully they stay that gorgeous chocolate brown color.

Likes: Mama's kisses, eating, sticking his hands in his mouth 24/7, eating, playing with Dad all day every day, his pacifier, eating, cuddling with Mama, eating... and eating

Will put up with: baths, Mama putting lotion on him and brushing his hair, being swaddled

Dislikes: the nasal aspirator, being burped, tummy time, being put down, leaving the house before noon (he gets that from me)

Personality, temperament, and attachment thus far: he has an easy temperament and a secure attachment. He is a very expressive baby - he has the best eyebrows ever. They always let me know what he's thinking (see the pictures below for evidence).

Physical feats: can sit in his bumbo chair without slumping over, is beginning to grab things (i.e. large clumps of my hair), tracks people as they walk around the room, cooing, smiling, sticking almost his entire fist in his mouth. He's trying really hard to be a thumb sucker, so I'm working overtime to prevent that. Today I caught him trying to suck his thumb through his swaddler in his sleep. I will win this battle.

Mama's highlights: about a week ago I held him during his entire nap. I was watching a movie and decided I wanted to hold him; frankly, I love his cuddles more than anything. When he finally woke up he slowly opened his eyes and looked right at me... and then proceeded to give me the biggest grin and giggled for the next 5 minutes or so. Oh man did that melt my heart. Those small moments where he smiles when I look at him make the 2am feedings, blowout diapers, projectile spit-ups on my newly washed shirt, etc. so worth it. I'm so blessed to be this sweet boy's mama.

This was on his actual 3 month "birthday". Daddy picked out this adorable overalls outfit - Mama was so proud.

Tummy time always starts out so positive...

Then this happens.
